Rohan Dennis Blazes to Stage Win and Second Overall - AlaPhilippe Turns In Inspired Folsom Time Trial to Cling to Race Lead

The name of the game was “fast” in Folsom today as the 140 men competing in the 2016 Amgen Tour of Californiaraced the clock in their individual time trial event, with Australian Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing Team) recording the fastest time. Eighteen women’s teams in the Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease™ Women’s Race Empowered with SRAM faced of for the race’s first-ever team time trial, with TWENTY16 – Ridebiker ending the day on top.

Toms Skujins Parlays Breakaway Ride into Amgen Tour of California Stage Five Win

Toms Skujins rode himself into the early breakaway, launched multiple attacks from the escape and proved fastest in a three-up uphill sprint to take out stage five of the Amgen Tour of California in South Lake Tahoe on Thursday. It’s the second stage win of the week for Cannondale Pro Cycling Team and the second year straight that the 24-year-old from Latvia has parlayed a breakaway ride into a stage win.

Second Toughest Day in the Saddle in California

Déjà Vu at the 2016 AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA as Skujiņš Escapes in the Mountains for Second Year Running to Claim a Stage Win 

After a long day in the breakaway as the peloton cruised from Lodi to South Lake Tahoe, Cannondale Pro Cycling Team’s Toms Skujiņš (LAT) led a group of three out ahead of the leaders, up the mountains where elevations approached 8,600 feet at the apex, and over the finish line at Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Rally Cycling Doubles Down on Podiums in Tahoe

Adam De Vos Finishes Second, Sara Poidevin takes Queen of the Mountains Lead

High above the casinos of South Lake Tahoe, Adam De Vos’s daylong gamble almost paid off with the biggest win of his young career. The Rally Cycling rider took a chance on a long breakaway and finished second in the toughest stage of the 2016 Amgen Tour of California. At the same time De Vos was infiltrating the day’s breakaway on the 131-mile stage, Sara Poidevin was staking her claim as one of the best climbers in the peloton in stage one of the women’s event.
