Peter Sagan Takes Second Win of the Week

Having announced that he was targeting stage wins at this year’s race, Peter Sagan added a second win of the week to his tally on the Laguna Seca race circuit with another superb performance. The victory marks Peter’s 15th career stage win at the Amgen Tour of California, and more opportunities await. The win also cemented his lead in the green jersey points classification.

Rally Cycling's Rob Britton Moves Into Top Ten at Amgen Tour of California

Canadian Into Ninth Place as Team Defends Evan Huffman’s KOM Lead

Rally Cycling continued its aggressive riding today during stage 4 of the Amgen Tour of California. As a result, Rob Britton moved into ninth place overall and Evan Huffman maintained his lead in the King of the Mountains competition. As in the first three stages, Rally Cycling infiltrated the day’s breakaway. Today it was Will Routley’s turn to spend the day in front of the peloton. Routley, winner of stage four and the King of the Mountains in the 2014 edition, had two objectives for the day. The first was to win the stage, and the second was to take maximum KOM points to defend the lead of teammate Evan Huffman.

Peter Sagan Sprints to Opening Stage Victory and GC Lead

The UCI World Road Race Champion, Peter Sagan, got his Amgen Tour of California campaign off to a perfect start sprinting to a resounding stage victory in San Diego. Peter’s first race back after a break following his successful classics campaign proved he is still riding strongly as he found a perfect opening in the hectic sprint finish to take the win and the first leader’s jersey with it.

Evan Huffman Second in Stage Two, Takes KOM Jersey at Amgen Tour of California

Day-long Breakaway Effort Moves Huffman Into Second Overall at Amgen Tour of California

Evan Huffman continued his stellar season with a second place finish in stage two of the Amgen Tour of California. En route to the podium, Huffman claimed the King of the Mountains jersey and moved into second place on the general classification.

“One of the goals of the day was to get in the break and get the KOM jersey,” said Huffman. “Once in the break I just tried to wait until the last 200 meters on the climbs and sprint. Ben (King) was close on the first two KOMs but I was able to edge him out. On the last one, he kind of let me have it. It’s great to have a jersey and a podium in my home state.”

Defending Champion Peter Sagan Returns to Amgen Tour of California

Following a break after the successful Spring Classics campaign, combined with a few mountain bike forays to test his off-road form, 13-time stage winner at the race Peter Sagan will return to road action at the Amgen Tour of California this May. Peter won the event in 2015 and will be looking to add to his tally of stage successes at this year’s edition.
