As 2008 draws to a close it gives us some time to reminisce about seven great years of the Jittery Joe's Pro Cycling Team. Jeff Hopkins criterium winning streak in 2003, Cesar's win on Brasstown Bald in 2004 and Trent Lowe winning the Tour de Georgia Best Young Rider jersey in 2005 to name a few. Couple that with the recent memories of Neil Shirley on the podium of USPRO Championships last year and Matt Shriver defending his overall championship of the Tour of White Rock in British Columbia this year. What a great run it has been!
As you know, the team is taking one step down next year and will be an amateur development squad concentrating on riders under the age of 25. We will have a strong Southeast schedule for these aspiring professionals with numerous trips to big races outside the Southeast like Tour of Pennsylvania and National Championships. The web site and blog will still be active with Jittery Joe's team photos, news and updates. Jittery Joe's looks forward to continuing to do what they do best-support the development of young riders and get them to the next level. We will have press releases coming out soon with who will be on the team, but please accept our huge "Thank You" for all of your continued support. |
