Cannondale Recalls Road Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. * The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

The recall affects approximately 1,300 Taiwanese manufactured 2009 Six 5, Six 6, Six Carbon 5 and Six Carbon 6 Bicycles imported by Cannondale Bicycle Corp in Bethel Conneticut. The affected bicycles were sold nationwide from October 2008 through February 2009.

BMC's Chad Beyer wins Tour de Murrieta

The Tour de Murrieta omnium race took place in southern California this weekend, gathering together a strong domestic field for the two stage event.  Chad Beyer snagged the victory in Saturday's Downtown Murrieta Criterium and locked up the overall title with a strong third place finish in Sunday's circuit race.

The First Tour of Colorado Race Will be Held March 29th in Superior, Colorado!

The famed Koppenberg Road Race opens the 2009 Tour of Colorado season  This 5.5 mile course consists of a 2.5 mile dirt section that ends with a short but very steep hill.  The 200 meter long "Koppenberg" hill has a 17% slope and takes its name from the legendary hill in the Tour of Flanders in the Tour of Flanders.  Clearly, a Colorado classic!

Bikes Belong Awards Five REI/BFC Grants

Boulder, CO—March 16, 2009 Bikes Belong, in partnership with the League of American Bicyclists and with generous support from Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), is pleased to announce five REI/Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) Grant Awards. These grants of between $10,000 and $20,000 have been awarded to grassroots groups that are working closely with their city governments to make conditions better for bicycling in aspiring and designated Bicycle Friendly Communities.

Hincapie Moves Up in the Overall as Klöden Storms to Stage 5 Victory in Tirreno-Adriatico
Monday, 16 March 2009
Klöden decimated the field in the 30K time trial on stage 5 and assumed the overall lead with a storming ride. Second place, Stijn Devolder of Quick Step and third place Columbia High-Road rider Thomas Lövkvist were twenty and twenty-one seconds off the pace set by Klöden.
