BMC's Kristoff Sprints in Tour du Poitou |
Tuesday, 24 August 2010 |
Tour du Poitou-Charentes, Royan, France - Stage 1 Alexander Kristoff sprinted through the remnants of a 16-man breakaway that was absorbed in the final kilometer to finish ninth for the BMC Racing Team Tuesday in the opening stage of the Tour du Poitou-Charentes.
A Perfect Lead-Out: Kristoff said he had a perfect lead-out from teammates Cole House, Martin Kohler, Steve Morabito, John Murphy and Danilo Wyss. But with riders from the breakaway being caught, it was far from a normal field sprint. "We caught the break with 200 meters to go and I got stuck between all the people from the break," Kristoff said. "I think I could have won if we had caught the break a little earlier." Anthony Roux (Francaise des Jeux) won the 186 km race. |
